ACTIVITY REWARDS
AC REWARDS
Since Kenos is a plot-heavy game based on engaging with other characters and the setting, we want to reward people that go above and beyond! Kenos does this through a Token system, which is a set of OOC rewards that translate to IC rewards. Using Tokens, you can make augment your character’s powers (or make completely new ones), get plot clues, or buy an exotic pet, to name a few things!
Tokens can be used to purchase items from the list below. If you have an idea for something you might like to use tokens on that isn’t listed or aren't sure how many tokens your idea would cost, feel free to ask! Mods may adjust the Token cost for some requests, since below are guidelines, and specific requests may fall into a different Token cost depending on the capabilities of the request.
Note, the Power Cap applies to all purchased items and powers, so they may require adjustment to fit underneath these limitations!
Finally, this system also includes a Powerlevel Discount. As a part of your application acceptance, you were assigned a Level based on the powers you described in your application. This Level entitles you to a discount of the prices above, which is as follows:
This discount is to help address power creep and try and make the stakes of the game more even. This way characters who come into the game well-equipped from their canon don’t dominate others, which results in better tension and stakes! With that in mind, mods may reduce or take away a character’s discount as they become more evenly matched with higher Levels, which you will be informed of.
In addition, this page is also used to share and submit your Notable Actions! Notable Actions sounds fancy, but it’s essentially a summary of what your character did during the month! This helps the Loremaster team by giving a good view of what characters are up to and interested in so that we can help the world be responsive to character actions. This summary can be a bulleted list or prose, and we would love it if it also included links, but it doesn’t have to. For an example of what we’re looking for, see this comment which shows the general format and what you can expect from rewards and/or this comment, which is a character played by one of the Loremasters!
Notable actions should include things that have been threaded out this month, but can also include hand-waved interactions about interacting with the world of Kenos at large, and we in fact recommend this! Is your character a regular at a bar? Did they start modeling for a clothing shop they like? Or maybe they're often seen at one of the city's libraries this month because they're deeply researching a new topic. Let us know, since this helps us get a sense of what your character's interests in the world are and can help us create more customized hooks for your character in turn!
IC, characters are asked to at least check in with their faction’s second-in-command once a month, since they’re similarly interested in what characters are getting up to. This check-in is at the character’s leisure and meant to be casual IC as well! Depending on what characters tell their respective NPC, they may get special information or missions that are relevant to what they’ve been doing IC, or the NPC may be the one to ICly grant them the boon that’s bought OOC with Tokens. For more on your faction’s NPC, you can read up on both Cetina (Meridian) or Kathova (Zenith).
If your character does not have a faction affiliation, they’re not missing out, don’t worry! They may still receive information and/or missions, but they’re more likely to come from a generic, unnamed NPC instead. In terms of boons, you’re free to figure out how it’s received or hash it out with the mods.
(We also recommend keeping your Character Survey up to date, since you never know when a mod might think to reference it, hint hint!)

Sebastian Michaelis

Sebastian arrives to Kenos and is not all that pleased with the process a second time around, but his temper is cooled rather easily as he reconnects with some familiar acquaintances. Emet-Selch gives Sebastian an idea of what he might be able to bargain from Yima, and Howl helps him work through some nightmares (while creating some stupider ones later). But most of interest to Sebastian was a chat with Silco where he gets his idea that if he can make contracts... Perhaps Silco isn't a bad choice for a master. Overall, Sebastian gets exactly what he had wanted (unfortunate for everyone), and in exchange for Ciel Phantomhive's Shard, Sebastian pledges his loyalty to Zenith's cause and Harmonizes very quickly.
Rescuing newcomers from the Tree of Life is a whole hot mess for Sebastian, since he cuts off a finger with Gen and Morgan, as well as. You know. Getting murdered. By Hayame.
It's no big deal though, since of course he takes it in stride and uses his time to explore Springstar and Highstorm both. This results in shenanigans of many flavors, including (but definitely not limited to...) talking about the marvels of humanity with Matsui, petty crime with Jinx, eating a worm that Rosaria kindly gave him, and trying tequila with Amos. He's a busy boy!

Sebastian starts out his month by being an absolute hater at Hayame and Gen, since Tier 2 Discord is horrible and makes you share feelings? He manages to reduce his Discord down to a reasonable level by strategic handholding, at least. Sometimes this works well, such as when he and Vander help each other out and other times, not so much, since hairstyling and gossip with Lottie is just too fun. Oh well.
In other minor notes, Sebastian has a rather relaxing month of socializing and meeting new people. Despite being a Scary Demon, Sebastian danced with Matsui, talked shit with Emet-Selch, promised to make fudge with Gray, and pet a kitty with Eustace. To name a few. He's a very busy demon, as you can see.
However, Sebastian's major action this month is striking up a Covenant with Silco. In exchange for utterly humiliating Silco's enemies, Sebastian will recieve (and eat) Silco's soul. For most people, this would be an alarming proposition, but for Sebastian and Silco? Of course not. They're having a great time planning to torture a dryad which they may even succeed at!

Fun fact, did you know that xenomorphs are pets in Black Butler for demons? Now you do! Sebastian will receive a (relatively) small, but adult Xenomorph Drone, with the following limitations so that this game doesn't turn into a fucking horror movie:
- Cannot Reproduce: Technically true of all Drones I think, but just. To point it out. He's not going to be making any facehuggers or chestbursters, don't worry.
- Decreased Corrosive Blood: While still caustic if it bleeds on you, it's not going to be immediately and violently debilitating. It's not something you're going to want to linger on your skin since it still burns since it's mildly caustic.
- Decreased Durability: While still coated in a hard carapace, this Xenomorph's is softer and is more easily killed.
- Small: Instead of being absurdly huge, Sebastian's horrible new pet is closer to four feet tall when standing and about ten feet long including the tail
Since they're pets in his realm, I'm also assuming Sebastian knows how to train them, so I'm also assuming that it's getting there already somewhat trained. You know, again, so this doesn't turn into a fucking horror show.Notes:

Sebastian had a quiet month
because Christy’s was too busy,and I’m saying he spent most of this month training his horrible new dog (a xenomorph) to not murder people on sight! How kind of him. But he did dip into this month’s celebrations by taking a chance with kiss bingo, enjoying the hot springs and figuring out a covert way to talk to Hayame without murder being involved. Also, he, Lottie, and Amos tried to burn a goat. They weren’t successful, but it was fun! Otherwise, he also attended the joint Christmas party-Misa’s birthday party.Did Your Character Check In? Yep!

As several new Shard-Bearers appeared in Kenos, Sebastian was one of those there to meet them. With some, he hit it off immedaitely, like Voryn, but others like Anders were considerably less impressed with the resident demon. Ah, well.
As the Oracles awakened and they were informed, Sebastian took it upon himself to "rally" his fellow Zenites, which really mostly meant taking a tally of some of their new faces. He also took the time to similarly bring the Stargazers together, but the former was certainly more successful than the latter. He at least got much more interesting conversations with Voryn and Set. Truly, these two are well on their way to being his favorite Meri.
Once they set out to the Scorched Isles, Sebastian wasted no time in getting to work. He ended up being a bit more diplomatic than he had imagined, since some were willing to strike up a contract for Sand and others were just getting slapped by Hayame in from of God and the whole library. He did deserve it, though. Otherwise, he took the time to nab an extra hourglass with Silco and Ocelot, get into a tussle with David, and help fight off Amos's doppelganger, to name a few things.

Kathova stands to make his way to the special room – the trinket room – before he pulled out a tool set. It’s made up of black iron tools, but one of them, the poker seems discolored with … the remnants of something. It might be demon blood! Huh! That’s weird! He hands it toward him with his beak open that might be a smile. “A Housewarming gift”, he says.

Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Highstorm
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Largely his home, though he definitely was around from place to place to buy his cooking ingredients at the beginning of the month and then his masquerade fit a bit later in the month.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: Sebastian was Present for Silco’s shenanigans with Aetos this month, but considering I, uh, rp both. Y’know. He’s just There.
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): Yep! Sebastian generally does work around “fancier” households in Highstorm as a housecleaner largely for fun and to ingratiate himself. Then on the complete flipside, he hangs out in Kowloon to continue his research into developing Shimmer for Silco. He keeps to himself in Kowloon though, and Silco’s answer to this question is generally going to be more reflective of his activities. Whatever the boss says!

Equally between Highstorm and Springstar via Kowloon!

Draumahol all the way. Considering Silco’s new business venture and Sebastian’s involvement in it as (a whore) an opium attendant, he’s added yet another job to the list.

Sebastian is definitely now a fixture at Draumahol since he works there! He’s still keeping his direct interest and connection to Silco a secret, but the fact that Silco employs him isn’t one at all.

Working on getting people high between opium, Shimmer, and sometime both. <3

Zero! Considering how much time Sebastian spends in Kowloon, he’s actually very diligent in reducing his Discord almost immediately. He considers it important to be in top shape at all times.

For Highstorm, just his home, and in Kowloon a combination of Draumahol and Silco's Shimmer outpost!

Sebastian did the bare minimum to technically help residents of Highstorm out to keep up appearances, but he was largely in the "not my fuckin problem" camp. Additionally, the thread is still underway, but he definitely intervened to direct Mamoru and Byleth away from Silco's office in Draumahol, and he might have intervened with Silco and Vander. Busy, busy!

Description:
In short, power sharing!
Thanks to his desire to Make People Worse, Sebastian will manifest a power to be able to give them a taste of what it's like to have his natural ability. This is something that Sebastian intentionally bestows upon someone by touch, and it allows them to use one of his abilites for a minimum of 8 hours, but up to 24 hours. During that time, Sebastian will not have that ability at all, since he's completely giving it to someone else. For example, he could choose to give someone his super strength or speed, and during that time, his own abilities in those areas will be reduced to a human level. Also after eight hours have passed, Sebastian can take back his ability freely, and that doesn't have a proximity requirement like bestowing it does.
As long as someone has one of Sebastian's powers, they will also take on some aspect of being a demon, which I'm intentionally keeping vague so that the other player can decide what that means! My immediate thought was reduced empathy or a higher capacity for cruelty (to fit with the idea that this is something that makes people worse/his power is corrupting), but the flexibility will allow for some plot opportunities, hopefully! These changes will only be mental, and will be something the other party decides.

Maybe it’s hunger (for souls), but Sebastian might hear the sound of Ciel yelling at him to bring him tea, or crumpets, or some other such fancy fare. As Sebastian pulls away from the stove, he’ll find a tray (either in his dream or for real, whichever is more fun! I know he can just make stuff) in his hands with tea and whatever fare he thinks his young master would like.
Of course, he would arrive just in time to make Sebastian’s life even more complicated, huh?
As he takes the stairs, the sounds of Ciel turn more and more into growls, and by the time he reaches the source of the sounds, and opens the door, he will find Sveinn in the middle of the room, proudly holding something in his maw, though he’s not biting hard! Instead, the demon brings it up to Sebastian, and deposits it onto the tray for him, just like a good little guy!

In short, just giving Sebastian the ability that he’s heavily implied to have in canon but never concretely enough for me to put in an app lol… Sebastian is able to invade peoples’ dreams as a conscious entity and manipulate them. This would be done with player permission (obviously), and Sebastian is inclined to use this ability as a manipulation tactic. For example, if someone is facing a difficult choice, he would use this power to influence a dream such that it would make the choice he wants them to make seem more appealing.
This power has no influence at all outside of dreams. No making dreams reality, etc. It’s much more like the rules in Inception where he would consider it a failure if they were aware that it was truly him manipulating their dreams. It’s supposed to be more subtle than that, even if he does make an appearance directly.

october 2023 (happy one year of ac)
Sebastian’s actual most notable activity was meeting Kiritsubo and taking her on a grand, slutty tour of everything Zenith had to offer. A good idea, since she joined up, and eventually gave him a tattoo consult!
Otherwise, his month was comprised of some demon ish like monsterfucking at the amusement park (as you do) and meeting and (probably) making deals with the newest demon resident.

Before the Oracle proper, Sebastian spent his time as he's wont to do, which amounted to making packed lunches for the upcoming Oracle, scheming with Silco, and uh. After Voryn decided to tell all of Meridian that he was a great lover, Raphael hit him with a "u up" and Sebastian dommed him incredibly hard. It was a fun time!
He spent the first few days of the Oracle before it kicked off properly by attempting to scout the area and find their target, but his crow form didn't work to his favor as much. For one, Set was a JERK!!! and both caught him and dropped his real name, and then he got tangled up in the maze's vines for the trouble. Shit sucks, couldn't have happened to a better guy, etc.
