ACTIVITY REWARDS
AC REWARDS
Since Kenos is a plot-heavy game based on engaging with other characters and the setting, we want to reward people that go above and beyond! Kenos does this through a Token system, which is a set of OOC rewards that translate to IC rewards. Using Tokens, you can make augment your character’s powers (or make completely new ones), get plot clues, or buy an exotic pet, to name a few things!
Tokens can be used to purchase items from the list below. If you have an idea for something you might like to use tokens on that isn’t listed or aren't sure how many tokens your idea would cost, feel free to ask! Mods may adjust the Token cost for some requests, since below are guidelines, and specific requests may fall into a different Token cost depending on the capabilities of the request.
Note, the Power Cap applies to all purchased items and powers, so they may require adjustment to fit underneath these limitations!
Finally, this system also includes a Powerlevel Discount. As a part of your application acceptance, you were assigned a Level based on the powers you described in your application. This Level entitles you to a discount of the prices above, which is as follows:
This discount is to help address power creep and try and make the stakes of the game more even. This way characters who come into the game well-equipped from their canon don’t dominate others, which results in better tension and stakes! With that in mind, mods may reduce or take away a character’s discount as they become more evenly matched with higher Levels, which you will be informed of.
In addition, this page is also used to share and submit your Notable Actions! Notable Actions sounds fancy, but it’s essentially a summary of what your character did during the month! This helps the Loremaster team by giving a good view of what characters are up to and interested in so that we can help the world be responsive to character actions. This summary can be a bulleted list or prose, and we would love it if it also included links, but it doesn’t have to. For an example of what we’re looking for, see this comment which shows the general format and what you can expect from rewards and/or this comment, which is a character played by one of the Loremasters!
Notable actions should include things that have been threaded out this month, but can also include hand-waved interactions about interacting with the world of Kenos at large, and we in fact recommend this! Is your character a regular at a bar? Did they start modeling for a clothing shop they like? Or maybe they're often seen at one of the city's libraries this month because they're deeply researching a new topic. Let us know, since this helps us get a sense of what your character's interests in the world are and can help us create more customized hooks for your character in turn!
IC, characters are asked to at least check in with their faction’s second-in-command once a month, since they’re similarly interested in what characters are getting up to. This check-in is at the character’s leisure and meant to be casual IC as well! Depending on what characters tell their respective NPC, they may get special information or missions that are relevant to what they’ve been doing IC, or the NPC may be the one to ICly grant them the boon that’s bought OOC with Tokens. For more on your faction’s NPC, you can read up on both Cetina (Meridian) or Kathova (Zenith).
If your character does not have a faction affiliation, they’re not missing out, don’t worry! They may still receive information and/or missions, but they’re more likely to come from a generic, unnamed NPC instead. In terms of boons, you’re free to figure out how it’s received or hash it out with the mods.
(We also recommend keeping your Character Survey up to date, since you never know when a mod might think to reference it, hint hint!)
Notable Actions
A summary of what your character was up to this month! This can be prose, a bulleted list, however you want to do it. It's truly just to let mods know what your character got up to this month.
Specific Actions
Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Self explanatory!
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: This one too!
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: Did they deck someone out in public? Did they steal something and get caught? Were they blackout drunk and stumbling around the city? Did they help a kid who scraped his knees when he fell? Tell us what the populous saw your character up to this month! For anything important, please include a thread link!
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): Again, feel free to give us links to any threads with your character completed, contributed, or partook in something that contributed something to one of your factions/cities.
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: If you'd like to include a brief blurb about whether this has increased or decreased from last month and how, that's a bonus but not required.
Did Your Character Check In?
With either Cetina or Kathova, if applicable. A simple yes or no is all we need, but if you want to add a detail like "they would have, but they were dead half of the month", that's fine.

Matt Jamison
FEBRUARY 2024
Specific Actions
Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Highstorm, but with an honorable mention for Kowloon, where he spends a decent amount of time
getting chomped by vampiresseeking out novel vices. He bops up to Springstar a decent amount, though after Cyrus' assassination he primarily goes there to see specific people, doesn't stay long, and uses an invisibility spell while outdoors. What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Matt was staying with Amos, but moved out over Amos' role in the Springstar attack. He crashed with Liem for a night in Springstar, then eventually moved in with Sebastian in Highstorm.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: It was probably notable that he cast a lot of spells to defend civilians in Springstar.
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): If a survey counts as a contribution, congratulations Kenos!!! But more seriously, Matt enchanted around 15 toys with little spells for peaceful sleep and emotional resilience, to be distributed to Springstar orphans. However, the credit for them would go to Yuri, because Matt specifically felt like Springstar residents would REASONABLY not want his help at this time.
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: I thhhhink it's at zero? If any of these actions would bump him up a tier, though, I'll adjust accordingly.
Did Your Character Check In?
Short answer: yes.
Long answer: Matt immediately developed a crush on Kathova. (SORRY. If you didn't want this to happen, you shouldn't have made him handsome bird!) Matt trusts Zenith's hierarchy as far as he can throw it, but he DOES go to his first check-in without having to be tracked down. He's polite, reserved, and says (honestly) that he wants to learn what Zenith's all about on a deeper level. He does not offer to look for Yima.
Notes:
None. I think I left it all on the field here. Well, that and in the Loremaster Disco channel :3 :3 :3

MARCH 2024
Specific Actions
Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Highstorm, with honorable mentions to Springstar and Kowloon to visit specific people
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Demon B&B (Highstorm and Springstar), Draumahol
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: Nope!
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): Nope
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: Pretty sure still 0?
Did Your Character Check In? Yes, bc he wants an excuse to see Kathova.
IF KATHOVA IS DEAD I DEMAND ANOTHER CUTE NPC, PREFERABLY ALSO BIRD BUT A LIZARD IS FINE.Thank you for keeping Kathova alive.Token Purchase
Purchasing: Okay, so this is mostly an accounting of spells and enchanted items.
Cost:
I thhhhink 3 tokens with his Level 2 discountI'm not totally clear how many tokens my proposed actions would cost!Description:
Cid: invisibility charm!Sorry between posting this and now, Cid is actually gone! Instead, Matt is looking at making a monster preserve in Alenroux for Ruby's friends, using a mixture of warding magic, headology, and potentially Zenitec. Basically the ward would deter anyone who intended to hunt within a specific delineated boundary by creating feelings of anxiety/"turn back."Notes: Before I spend tokens, I did want to circle back about my lore and engagement questions from the other month. Step 1, I am paranoid that I did it wrong and you can't actually see the message, so: can you? Step 2, would trying any of these means of setting/lore engagement cost AC tokens? If so, I'd want to prioritize those.
no subject
For reference, Tezcatlipoca and Amos's have a cost associated and Dimitri's does not. For the monster preserve, this is a bit outside of an AC purchase because it's going to need some additional plotting for Matt and Ruby to be able to do this in the first place (and with your March balance, you wouldn't have enough tokens). You can tack this onto the Discord thread.
TOKENS EARNED THIS MONTH:

APRIL 2024
Takes a deep breath.
Specific Actions
Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Highstorm, with honorable mention to Old Springstar and a little time in Alenroux
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Demon B&B (Highstorm), Greenwood Yards, Tomes, Starwatcher's Spire, Last Dance, northern Alenroux woods
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: Only Florence and Aetos I think ...
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): No. Matt's a scrub :/
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: 0 but dw it's about to go up
Did Your Character Check In?
ofc <3 <3 <3 sorry Kathova for his increased sensual vibes
Token Purchase
Purchasing: If I'm right, I will be past cap this month (Feb: bonus AC, Zenith bonus; Mar: bonus AC, Oracle log; Apr: Bonus AC, tagged new player on the TDM) so I would like to have retroactively spent at least one token on monster sanctuary abjuration spell, aka a ward in Alenroux.
Other things I am interested in purchasing:
Cost: If Matt's sympathetic magic spell functions like Geas, ish, then with discount I believe that's 4 tokens. Again, assuming he gets to do it, that's what I'd want to spend tokens on first.
Two tokens' worth of monster sanctuary spell with discount would be 1 token.
So that leaves 1 token to bank for ritual sex magic???
Notes: I'm totally making up token spend to the best of my abilities, so any guidance is more than welcome.
Also, DOES Matt get to go brush Sveinn? I'm in for consequences. ;___;
no subject
- See previous notes about monster sanctuary
- Compelling truthful speech is a spell that's possible, but it wouldn't work like you describe. Geas is a very powerful spell, and is essentially reserved for higher Harmonization. Therefore, Matt wouldn't be able to learn something like this because by the principles of Harmonization, he simply wouldn't have the right amount of innate energy to do so. This would be explained to him IC or he would discover this, so it's a good incentive to Harmonize further. It's the same principle with a lesser version of the spell, Zone of Truth, which he could access by becoming Tier 2. Characters can only learn spells from spellbooks that are at their current level.
- The lore is possible, but this isn't a tokens purchase. That's more along the lines of a player plot, so if you would like to do so, just start organizing it and we'll give lore in return.
So, with all that said, is there anything you'd like to purchase?
