ACTIVITY REWARDS
AC REWARDS
Since Kenos is a plot-heavy game based on engaging with other characters and the setting, we want to reward people that go above and beyond! Kenos does this through a Token system, which is a set of OOC rewards that translate to IC rewards. Using Tokens, you can make augment your character’s powers (or make completely new ones), get plot clues, or buy an exotic pet, to name a few things!
Tokens can be used to purchase items from the list below. If you have an idea for something you might like to use tokens on that isn’t listed or aren't sure how many tokens your idea would cost, feel free to ask! Mods may adjust the Token cost for some requests, since below are guidelines, and specific requests may fall into a different Token cost depending on the capabilities of the request.
Note, the Power Cap applies to all purchased items and powers, so they may require adjustment to fit underneath these limitations!
Finally, this system also includes a Powerlevel Discount. As a part of your application acceptance, you were assigned a Level based on the powers you described in your application. This Level entitles you to a discount of the prices above, which is as follows:
This discount is to help address power creep and try and make the stakes of the game more even. This way characters who come into the game well-equipped from their canon don’t dominate others, which results in better tension and stakes! With that in mind, mods may reduce or take away a character’s discount as they become more evenly matched with higher Levels, which you will be informed of.
In addition, this page is also used to share and submit your Notable Actions! Notable Actions sounds fancy, but it’s essentially a summary of what your character did during the month! This helps the Loremaster team by giving a good view of what characters are up to and interested in so that we can help the world be responsive to character actions. This summary can be a bulleted list or prose, and we would love it if it also included links, but it doesn’t have to. For an example of what we’re looking for, see this comment which shows the general format and what you can expect from rewards and/or this comment, which is a character played by one of the Loremasters!
Notable actions should include things that have been threaded out this month, but can also include hand-waved interactions about interacting with the world of Kenos at large, and we in fact recommend this! Is your character a regular at a bar? Did they start modeling for a clothing shop they like? Or maybe they're often seen at one of the city's libraries this month because they're deeply researching a new topic. Let us know, since this helps us get a sense of what your character's interests in the world are and can help us create more customized hooks for your character in turn!
IC, characters are asked to at least check in with their faction’s second-in-command once a month, since they’re similarly interested in what characters are getting up to. This check-in is at the character’s leisure and meant to be casual IC as well! Depending on what characters tell their respective NPC, they may get special information or missions that are relevant to what they’ve been doing IC, or the NPC may be the one to ICly grant them the boon that’s bought OOC with Tokens. For more on your faction’s NPC, you can read up on both Cetina (Meridian) or Kathova (Zenith).
If your character does not have a faction affiliation, they’re not missing out, don’t worry! They may still receive information and/or missions, but they’re more likely to come from a generic, unnamed NPC instead. In terms of boons, you’re free to figure out how it’s received or hash it out with the mods.
(We also recommend keeping your Character Survey up to date, since you never know when a mod might think to reference it, hint hint!)

Tokens are earned through going above and beyond with game participation in the following ways:- Completing Bonus AC (1 token)

So even if this token purchase goes through, I presume Gen won't really feel any changes or benefit from it, sucks to be him!
november 2022
- Started off the month interrogating Dextera about his Dryad-related death, and then eventually accosted both Hythlodaeus and Archangel for the parts they played in it.
- Had some fun(?) with the Takiltu festivities, including some bouts at the coliseum against Mamoru and Set where he fought viciously but got his ass whooped in the end. Womp womp.
- Got furrified. Is it because of the foods at the festival, or purely because of my selfish whims? It is a mystery. He now has dog ears and a tail and big ol' fangies going forth.
- Investigated a rumor he heard about non-Yima-sourced shards, which led him to the Church of Helios.
- Received the communion from Yima regarding Alenroux, and while he personally didn't care much about the lost shard, ended up borrowing a weapon (a mace capable of producing flames from the head) and trailing after Atsumu, whose movements he found suspicious. The lads bonded cutely (no) over fighting a slime.
- Received a stern talking-to(?) from Emet-Selch regarding his previous harrassment of Hythlodaeus. It went great and civil. (It did not.)
- Held onto the borrowed mace to join Amos and Eustace in going dryad-hunting.
- Further kept the mace until he could continue following the investigation lead to a bar in Psychagogia.
- Starting about half-way through the month, Gen has also become homeless! He's taken up working for a courier business, which gets him just barely enough money to keep himself fed (both in terms of food and his nicotine habit), but doesn't quite cover the cost of housing. As a result, Gen rents a room in a shitty cheap inn when he can afford it, but when he can't, splits his nights between hoofing it outdoors with Eustace and Gray, crashing on the couches of characters who'll let him, and sleeping in whatever warm, quiet-ish spot off the streets he can find by nightfall. Glamorous.
Did Your Character Check In?Investigation results pendingHe ended up under the vague employ of a man named Turek, acting as his eyes while taking miscellaneous jobs around the entertainment district in exchange for a comfortable paycheck. The mace, unused in this incident, was returned to Zenith's handlers afterward without an explanation for the delay.No, because he's still a factionless bum. :')

- Attended the Kenos harmonization ceremony upon Amos' invitation, where he mostly hung around feeling vaguely awkward. Most notably, spoke to Misa a bit regarding their respective gifted shards they've been protecting. Normal teenage bonding!
- Participated in kiss bingo in hopes of getting some nice, luxurious free meals. Probably fell short of a full bingo, but not for lack of effort. Ended up kissing a few people, four or five-ish? (Maybe one or two more, depending on how some threads pan out.)
- Also hung out in the hot springs for a while, encountering a few folks there. The hot springs are literally his favorite place to be during the winter, and he'll be genuinely bummed if/when they go away.
- That's it, that's literally mostly what he did this month.
- In the meantime, he's been keeping up with his job working for Turek. Gen reports in on time, does his job (even if he's not happy with his assignment), clocks out, then reports in to Turek as he's told to. He also may or may not have cheekily kissed Turek on the hand while accepting his payment one day to try and fill out another box on his kiss bingo, thanks boss.
- He's also still been taking odd jobs with the courier agency to supplement his income. As a result he tends to be quite tired most of the time, but that's how capitalism works, baby. :')
- Though he's still been bumming off acquaintances in Highstorm/Springstar from time to time, he's been otherwise acclimating to the apartment Turek gave him in Kowloon. By this point, Gen can navigate Kowloon with some comfort, though he still has a little trouble finding any more remote locations.

Did Your Character Check In?
Yes! Now that he's finally part of a faction, he would have somewhat awkwardly and wearily checked in with Cetina after returning from the Scorching Isles, mostly just to confirm logistics (whether he's really a Meridian now, confirming that he now has a non-Kowloon place to stay, seeing what perks that earns him, etc.) before unceremoniously skulking off to his room to crash.

Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Springstar (and Kowloon)
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Mostly stayed at his room at the Tribune now that he's harmonized, though he still spends about two nights a week at his place at Kowloon. Mostly seen wandering about Springstar and Kowloon when he isn't working or sleeping, though he also still periodically slinks around Highstorm in vaguely surreptitious fashion.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: Nothing much this month.
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon):
- In order to pay Victor for his prosthetic, he took on a little fetch quest mining resources at the World's Edge. Thanks to Gray's help, he'll have brought back a pretty good amount of the requested mineral, more than was necessary. (He'll probably do one more job next month to finish paying for the prosthetic.)
- He also still continues his work for Turek in Kowloon. Now that he's fallen into the rhythm of it, he's starting to get a bit better at it, though he's still pretty shit at anything that requires extensive sweet-talking or playing a role. If it's just keeping an eye and ear out, he's getting pretty good at figuring out what information to relay to Turek.
- Though he still runs a few courier jobs in Springstar (gig economy-style, yes he's basically doing DoorDash), he's getting a bit sporadic and complacent with those now that he has the Tribune to stay at ... and also since Victor's work is a bit more interesting to him. He'll have asked Victor if he can watch from time to time, once the production of his prosthetic's started, and maybe asked a few questions about any extra work there that needs to be done ... ?
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: Zero, baybeee! He got indiscriminately cuddly with a bunch of people during masq, so he's probably managed to leech a bunch of little bits of purification off them.
Did Your Character Check In? Yes! He'll mostly have bothered Cetina at some point to ask about the Tier 1 spells (he's finally learning how to use them, this fucken loser), but checked in with her while he was at it.

Cost: 3 (4 with Level 2 character discount)
Description: [ name pending ], a plated glove, less obtrusive than a gauntlet. Might tweak the little details a bit further, but the general parameters would be:
- When inactive, just a very sturdy glove. Can block blades and be used for meatier punches.
- Activated when the wearer is in a significant amount of pain and/or has taken a significant amount of damage.
- Upon activation, allows the user to continue functioning normally as if uninjured for approximately one hour. Pain is still felt, but physical effects are nullified; extends to extremely debilitating or fatal wounds.
- During that time, can be used to deal a direct blow, one time, that will make the target feel double the amount of pain the user is feeling. Needs to be a direct blow, not through a weapon or other tool.
- Once activation time is up, all pain and physical effects resume.
- Can be activated roughly once a week (or, more practically, once every event.)
Notes: It was Gen's birthday this month and he told exactly one (1) person, who made him a cute dinner for the occasion. It's probably the softest and lowkey happiest moment he's had in a while. 🥺 But also thank you mods for all your hard work always!!! i kiss your hands

Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Springstar and Kowloon
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Same as last month -- mostly hung around the Tribune in Springstar, though he's also still spending a good chunk of time in Kowloon as Turek requires of him, as well as lurking around Highstorm from time to time.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?:
I don't know about notable, but he started working for Victor, the blacksmith! About halfway through the month (mid-March, so early Pelu), when he was starting to see Victor more often to finalize the details about his prosthetic, he would have floated the question of if Victor needed any more work done around blacksmith factory. Victor might have noticed Gen looking around curiously the previous times he'd visited, showing a quiet interest in the work there, so it wouldn't have been an idle question asked on a whim, either.
As a result, Victor's set Gen up as the apprentice for one of the NPC blacksmiths working at his factory. The blacksmith he works for is named (rolls a RNG name generator) Yasin, a boisterous and bold middle-aged man who's friendly and good-natured, but also doesn't take shit; he's the oldest of many siblings, and is thus well-practiced in handling Gen's shitty teenage attitude. Gen isn't particularly charmed by Yasin's loud nature, but he's a little interested in blacksmithing work and is thus starting to acclimate to his new position well enough.

- Gen's still continuing his work for Turek without much change; he does exactly as much is asked of him to earn his paycheck.
- As mentioned above, he started working at Victor's blacksmith factory about halfway through the month! So far he's mostly just doing baby-level grunt-work that he can manage with one arm -- hauling around materials, working the bellows at the furnaces, handing Yasin tools as demanded, etc. -- but has been fairly diligent about doing as asked. He'll slowly get graduated to more "proper" blacksmith work starting next month.
- (Also he quit his courier job shortly after starting his work for Victor. No more Doordash runs for him!)
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: Still zero!
Did Your Character Check In? Yes, at the very tail end of the month he would have shown up to Cetina sporting his ✨ brand new prosthetic arm ✨ to tell her the thing with Victor worked out. (He wouldn't, like, actually thank her for it since he's a fucking shithead, but she'd get the vibes that he appreciates it, even if he won't say as much, the asshole.)
Notes: I WAS SO ABSENT THIS MONTH ... I'm just going to pretend Gen had a little secret crisis after this exciting Masq Month so he mostly hunkered down and focused on work to distract himself, but now that he spent the whole month having a little tailspin he's internalized it all in some fashion and is ready to get back into things. What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: He spent almost the entire month staying at the Tribune, for once, when not out helping around Springstar or checking up on Victor's blacksmithing factory.

If so, what/where?: He'll have been seen around Springstar helping with recuse efforts as the Blight's effects worsened. Given his abilities, he mostly assisted with seeking out buried people in need of help or, when acting alone, digging them out himself with his Walmart-earthbender abilities. Also went on a few supply runs or search missions into collapsed buildings, since his abilities makes him well-suited for those tasks. Though consistently rude and dismissive towards anyone who tried to talk to him when was doing this work, he would have still worked fairly diligently on most days before slinking off exhausted when too drained to continue.

- Before everything went to shit thanks to the Blight, he started properly getting into his work at Victor's blacksmith factory, actually learning to handle tools and metalworking instead of just being a gofer. He's very much still learning (i.e. he's still bad at everything), but he's earnest enough and has been Actually Trying. After the Blight hit, he visited promptly to make sure the people he knew were okay, and would have stopped by periodically to assist as necessary.
- He's started slacking a bit on his work with Turek as he does more proper work with Victor. He would have started skipping out on reporting into Turek about once a week, and once the Blight hit, he would have only checked in with Turek once before devoting most of his attention elsewhere.
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: About a 1, up a tier from last month. The increase is due to a combination of using Harmonized abilities during his various rescue efforts, the cumulative time he's spent so far away from Springstar finally catching up to him, and a little bit because he honestly thinks all the rescue efforts he's been making are ultimately kind of pointless and a waste of his energy in the long run (action that compromises morals).
Did Your Character Check In? Yes, near the end of the month, after a few days of rescue efforts, he would have checked in with Cetina mostly to bitch at her about what a shitty and thankless job the Meridians have been assigned before storming off in an exhausted huff.

What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Before everyone got chased underground, he spent his evenings in Springstar, using Victor's office at his factory as his safe shelter. Seeing it so empty and ravaged was sad, but it also felt vaguely right to stay there. :(

What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: A bit over a 2! His betrayal of Meridian bumped him up a solid tier from the previous month.
Did Your Character Check In? Yes! (Assuming the check-in NPCs are back and available like normal after the event.) Cetina probably saw him around the Tribune before the Oracle event started, while afterward, he checked in with Kathova ... kind of awkwardly, since this is his return to Yima's manor after getting unceremoniously kicked out for being a freeloader for too long. :') He'd be trying to act belligerent to cover up the awkwardness though.

Description: A moderately enchanted mace. Looks nondescript and very similar to the standard mace he carries around. However, this one's enchanted to find its way back to him if he loses it. If he loses track of it, he'll find it lying on the floor of whatever room he's staying in the following morning. Other magical effects are simply that it's much sturdier and more heat-resistant than a standard mace -- even if Gen heats up the metal to red-hot levels with the Heat Metal spell and uses it to strike, the metal won't warp or bend.

GIFT REWARD
Gen's dream is mundane at first as he wanders around the moonlit city of Highstorm, but it takes an unexpected turn as he stumbles upon a familiar motor scooter. Intrigued, he hops on and feels the exhilaration of the open road as he rides through the streets of Highstorm, the only motor vehicle on its streets. The wind whips through his hair, and a sense of freedom fills his being.
With each twist and turn, Gen explores the nooks and crannies of Highstorm, the scooter carrying him effortlessly. However, as the dream progresses, the scooter's fuel gauge slowly approaches empty. Undeterred, Gen continues his ride, relishing every moment until the engine sputters and the scooter comes to a halt.
Upon waking, a sense of longing lingers within Gen's heart. Driven by the vivid memory of the dream, he follows the path he took in his dream and arrives at the very spot where the scooter had run out of gas. To his astonishment, there the motor scooter stands, as if waiting for his return. …Though it doesn’t have any more gas than it did when the dream ended.
While it'll be quite expensive, Gen will be able to find gas in Kowloon! How expensive we leave up to you. Since this is just a little scooter, there's not exactly like, power levels concerns here,

Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Springstar during the days, Highstorm in the evenings and nights, and Kowloon here and there.
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: In Springstar, mostly Victor's factory and a few bars. In Highstorm, mostly Yima's manor and a few bars. In Kowloon, wherever Turek might have requested he be, along with any place involved in his sidequest.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: Got into quite the ugly little tiff with Dokja in Springstar, in front of a bartender and some other random patrons. Otherwise, was spotted at Benny's with Rin egging her on after hearing she tormented some tall blonde screaming idiot.
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): Gen really threw himself into his work at Victor's factory this month; though he spent the first few days of the months playing truant, once he did start showing up again (looking like shit for two or three days), he pulled long shifts and immersed himself in his work to avoid thinking. He would have improved on his budding skills quite a bit over the month through pure repetition. Otherwise, he contributed to the sidequest in Kowloon. (Thread in progress.)
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: Slightly over a 1. Would have been a 2.5-ish at the beginning of the month, except a good long cuddle session or two with Set would have brought it back down to manageable levels.
Did Your Character Check In? Yes! Near the beginning of the month, after emerging from his depression nap stage, to check in and see if he'd missed any big developments during that time. And then maybe once more nearer the end of the month, while returning from some bar or the other at a weird hour of the evening, drunkenly hassling Kathova for a bit before stumbling to his room.

(Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): He's continuing his work with Victor, and is probably actually pretty decently productive by this point. Still mostly at the level of a beginner, but at least knowing what he's doing by this point.

Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Mostly Highstorm this time! He would have taken some time off work at Victor's factory nearing the time of the impending Oracle fight, anticipating a need to stay in Highstorm and get himself into the right mood. Even after the Oracle fight, he'd need a little time to sort of recalibrate himself mentally (and metaphorically lick his many wounds) before starting to show up at work again, pretending nothing happened. Probably.
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Mostly just the area around Yima's manor -- his room, any common areas, bars and streets nearby. Quiet places he'd use to think and put himself into the right mindset.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: Not much excluding anything involved in the Oracle event.
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): Not particularly this month!
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: Probably back up to around a .75 ~ 1. He used his abilities a fair bit during the Oracle fight, and his whole messy hostage situation against Set would have pushed him a bit further towards Discord.

Yes! He would have checked in after the entire Oracle fight, looking especially bedraggled and exhausted after the Super Delightful Friendly Funtimes he had during the event. (Spoiler: it was not particularly fun.) He probably bitched out Kathova a bit, saying that this whole mess was fucking bullshit, the security in the manor sucks balls, and how he wants to know what the fuck Yima was doing, interfering with this whole fight and cooperating with Set, a known Meridian, during it. (Guess who never got the memo that Set was just using her image against him, whoops.) He'd storm off after barely waiting for an answer, but if Kathova (or Yima?) might have some answer delivered to him in later fashion, he'd listen to it then!

Description: Responding to Gen's desperate wishes to keep Reiji's shard safe and under his control at all times, he'll manifest the ability to teleport any object (maximum size about 2 cubic feet) within eyesight to either any other place he can clearly picture (i.e. no unknown locations, but to "my bedroom at Yima's manor" is valid) or in the possession of another person he can clearly picture (it will appear in their lap or in their hand, depending on its size). This will work without fail as long as Gen genuinely considers the object as his possession. It will usually work on objects where ownership doesn't seem important (e.g. a stray cup sitting out in the open, a sign by the road, etc.), but will always fail on objects that he knows belongs to others (e.g. a weapon someone else is holding).

Though he was absent for two weeks during his jail time, he's been extra diligent since returning to work, and seemed to put in genuine effort at doing his best. (B-baka, it's not like he feels like he owes Victor for bailing him out.)
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: At time of check-in, he would have been a bit over a 2! (Nearing a 3 by the end of the month, though he wouldn't explicitly check in with Kathova again at the time.)
Did Your Character Check In?
Yes. Would have shown up looking bedraggled and exhausted after two weeks of absence while he was in Springstar jail. (Wow, does he ever look put-together in front of Kathova?) He'd have curtly asked Kathova if he missed anything important happening while he was gone, and otherwise retreated his room to sleep for a solid 48 hours. His presence would be pretty sporadic for the rest of the month while he alternates between focusing on work and going on little hedonistic benders.

because I was busy getting my brain fried by a mini work crunch.Specific Actions
Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Highstorm, and a little bit of Kowloon. After his run-in with Springstar's police the previous month, he's kept his time in Springstar this month to only clocking into and out of work.
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: In Highstorm, a lot of his free time was spent at Bloody Marie's (and subsequently, wherever the sexy vampire oneesans there would let him accompany them afterwards) and other similarly hedonistic locations to take his mind off things. In Kowloon, he ended up spending a good chunk of time in and at the area around The Last Dance as a result of a certain quest.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: As a part of his solution to above quest, he challenged a notable business tycoon to a duel smack in the middle of the Last Dance and actually won (probably after some struggling and maybe a tiny bit of cheating with help from Atsumu).
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): Not much other than his usual work in Springstar.

Yes. Checked in with Kathova upon return from the carnival, probably seeming rather lethargic and exhausted after All That. Definitely not a result of his mounting Discord that he's been neglecting, nope, nosirree. Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Mostly Highstorm. Though he still visits Springstar on the regular, he rarely wanders far from Victor's factory in the Viomichanikós district these days.
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Bloody Marie's and other similarly seedy entertainment venues most of the time; Yima's manor when resting.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: No specific actions performed in the cities. However, given the events of the Oracle battle were broadcasted publicly, everyone got to watch him struggle in several different flavors during the event. Wheee!

What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: An awful lot of time around bars in Highstorm, particularly Bloody Marie's. Was also seen around Victor's working areas in Kowloon towards the later part of the month.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: closes eyes, was probably seen getting awfully chummy (tl;dr: bloodsucking, h*nd-holding 😳 and then getting carried out asleep) with notable Meridian vampire D at Bloody Marie's ........
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): Due to rising tensions between factions, his working contribution to Springstar has ceased. He now works in Kowloon under Victor's direct supervision, though he does often move around Kowloon disguised to avoid drawing too much of Silco's attention (and to sharpen his own spell skills when it comes to disguises).
What is their current discord level (at the time of their check-in)?: A ... low 3. Still bad, but at least back under some semblance of control. :')
Did Your Character Check In? Yes, unfortunately for Kathova. Probably stopped by to hassle him at some point while returning from one of his benders, asking if Kathova would join him in getting sloshed next time before wandering away laughing like a hyena because he knows Kathova would never actually accept.
Notes: The December setting updates stated that T2+ Zeniths get to choose a boon. Since it's been granted permission, Gen will be gaining a boost to his Alter Self spell so he can maintain it for about double the original timespan!

Which city did your character spend most of their time in during this AC period?: Highstorm. Other than the period he spent in Springstar doing recon (about 40% disguised with Alter/Disguise Self, 50% not magically disguised but remaining as unnoticed as possible, and 10% maybe actually spotted by people before sliding away), he pretty much stuck to Highstorm this month.
What venues or residences did they spend the majority of their time in while there?: Yima's manor before it got leveled by the Meridian beam; Amos' guestroom afterward.
Did your character perform any notable actions in front of NPC's in either city this month? If so, what/where?: Though not the main instigator or the one to deal the final blow, Gen was definitely present at and contributed to Cyrus' assassination at Springstar and was probably seen by some civilians.
Did your character contribute to either city? (Resources, work, side quests, etc - this includes Kowloon): He contributed a little bit to recovery/rescue efforts at the ruins of Yima's manor immediately following its destruction, and probably helped fish out a few NPCs from the manor/recovered some objects, but he absconded as soon as he hit his limits and never went back.
