CHARACTER DEATHS

When a character's body suffers fatal damage, they dissipate around their Shards - but as long as the Shards themselves are not destroyed, a Shard-Bearer will return to life. In order for this regenerative process to take place, however, Shards must be brought to the Tree of Life - a place to which all Bearers are innately connected. (This knowledge is well-known by all Bearers in both Highstorm and Springstar, and thus you can handwave how your character came about the details.)

A Bearer's Shard must be placed near the Tree's base; it will slowly sink into the earth until buried. Over the course of the next 5-7 days (your OOC choosing), a cocoon of moss, roots, and soil will begin to emerge from the ground - and as long as the Shard held within is not disturbed, the Bearer will regenerate and revive from within. Once the process is complete, they will 'hatch' from their cocoon like a newborn birdling - with or without outside assistance. They will find themselves weak and generally unwell for the next few days; the time of their recovery is up to you. Whether they bear scars or permanent disfiguration as a result of damage suffered prior to dissipation is up to you.

How they died: Asked Silco to shimmer him so he could go HAM in Ryad for a little bit while trying to figure out his berserker condition. It failed because this was only his second time entering that state. Had to get taken out/torn apart/exsaguinated/etc. by creatures in Ryad to get him to stop, but he was kinda expecting that.

How they died: The thread is still ongoing, but Link is killed during part 1 of the Seeds of Unrest event, while in one of Voryn Dagoth's time pockets! He's getting foul-murdered by some king dude manifested from Voryn's past, it's a whole big thing dw about it

How they died: MASSIVELY backdated but despite the thread I believe stalling out it's still close enough... When Vander went berserk prior to Aetós kidnapping him, Amos deliberately put himself in position to also go berserk in order to try to contain him. Which obviously ended up meaning nothing since Aetós removed the Vander problem, but then Childe and Dimitri had to kill Amos anyway. I'm not sure how! It was probably brutal though.

How they died: Zhongli was going to mercy kill him but hesitated on the killing blow so Childe ran off. Rosaria found him and finished him off and gave his shard to Zhongli. He was dead within the first two hours of being corrupted by Set.
When they died / when they'll revive: somewhere on late day 5 or day 6 of the Oracle Event (not sure when that was but mend somewhere around May 17th-20th, I'm good with whatever the mods want to say the ooc date was but it was earlier than not; aka didn't get to try and kill Zenith people as a brainwashed Faction traitor yet.) He will return June 2nd or whenever the dead people from the event can be revived.

How they died: Set vowed the use of his Shard/soul to John Gaius, who sought to connect with the "soul" of Kenos. At the foot of the Tree of Life, Set used Speak with Plants and Plant Growth to prepare a diligent offering to the Tree and announce his intentions, before turning his arsenal of weapons against himself to tear his body to pieces, killing himself in sacrifice to the Tree and John's ritual.
