THE GOOD
How far would they go to accomplish their goals or fulfill their desires? Do they have lines they wouldn't cross?
D is very persistent and determined when it comes to his goals, but they aligned more on the side of good. He has a kind of knightly code of conduct when it comes to his decisions and combat. Preferably, he does not like killing humans; however, if the human challenges him respectably, or attacks him, he will oblige. There isn't any discrimination with non-humans, but he does offer them a polite respect no matter what they are. He does not tolerate unnecessary torture or suffering.
What is something they treasure?
Humanity and, with that, the memory of his mother who was a human. Though he does not care much for the humans who are terrible to others, D does care about humanity as a whole. Nothing is more endearing to him than civilian humans living their lives without having to worry about being hunted by vampires (or anything else). He loves human children who he sees as the flourishing generations of humans to come. Human children are typically the ones who don't treat him like a monster the way adults do with their prejudices.
Re-reading these is so funny. WELL, he now has a little found family to treasure, I GUESS. Dokja, Gray, and Eustace have become good friends he cares for. 🥹 He hates burdening them with his presence, but they are people he has come to treasure.
He has also become good allies with Hayame and Liem... so he treasures the fact they actually talk to him more than once and don't avoid him. (THE SELF ESTEEM IS SO BAD YOUR HONOR) He also treasures being able to sneakily give Byleth writing since it had made Byleth so excited before.
What do they consider to be their best or most positive qualities?
He does not think he has any positive qualities slaps him repeatedly. But as long as someone does not give him a terrible reason, it's the dignity he gives to all living things by not judging them for what they are. Under the surface, he is compassionate, emotional, and sentimental, and he's extremely patient unless someone is wasting his time.
What is this character's best memory?
After helping them, receiving a photograph of Doris Lang and her little brother, Dan Lang, while getting ready to leave their town to move on. Also, he kind of liked Doris, but keeps himself from making those kinds of attachments.
In game: receiving Xmas gifts from others... 🥹

HELP. Looks above. He had a bit of feelings for Doris. He really likes Dan as well because Dan didn't care about his scary aesthetic or his stand-offish nature. His mother is dead, but he has positive feelings associated with her. Mommy's boy...

Idfk where to put Gen!! GOD. He has a weird middle ground with Gen where they often get off on the wrong foot always, but when it comes down to it, he realizes he and Gen may have more in common at the base level than he thought.... He hates that. He hates Gen is mean as shit, but gets that Gen is mean as shit probably because he's only dealt with having awfulness. 😮💨 Grits teeth.... He wants better for Gen!! He wants Gen to be a better person and to know there is some good in life.
THE BAD
What could or would tempt your character to compromise their principles?
If he has the Batman Scenario where he has to pick between a terrible practice and an innocent's death, he'll pick the terrible practice in order to save them. If talking villain, he sometimes will over-extend and lose himself in his anger and bloodlust to wipe them from existence for bad things they may have done to innocent people. He'll abandon his conduct so fast to punish someone (even humans) he thinks deserves it.
What do they desire above all else?
For humans to have a world free of vampires where they can begin to flourish again without being used as a food source or slaves.
🧍♂️ For Meridian to win so the worlds can be brought back for everyone.
What are their biggest fear and/or insecurities?
That he won't be able to find and stop the Sacred Ancestor (the ruler and first of all vampires) to break the cycle of vampire existence.
That Zenith will win and make some terrible conglomerate of a world. That the entire premise is a big ruse and they are all going to fail. That he will have to go back to living a life of solitude on the Frontier after creating personal relationships with people in Kenos.
What is this character's worst memory?
Being experimented on by the Sacred Ancestor when he was young. He went through a lot of terrible, rigorous experiments which were meant to make him into a perfect being, a goal the Sacred Ancestor is after. D is known at the Sacred's Ancestor's only success.
Damb... Losing his arm in the Oracle fight because it took Left Hand with it. Now he's down a helpful entity and also his mind is full of silence.
Is there anyone they have highly negative feelings towards?
Human torture and suffering, even more so when children are involved. His chivalry means he has a big distaste for those who hurt, steal from, or harass others, especially if these are women and children. He tolerates vampires if they aren't purposefully harming humans, but he does not want vampires to exist in general. Vampires often ask him why he fights on the human side and not the vampire side. He also has a grudge against the Sacred Ancestor; it's implied that while he hates the man, he is trying to find him to get questions answered rather than immediately jump to killing. (He'll still kill him, though.)
HELP, Silco and Sebastian. This is killing me. Silco for Silco's deranged world view and cunning. Sebastian because the dude ripped his arm off and also tortured Hayame.

What kinds of gifts does your character like?
He loves small acts of kindness from humans. He treasures gifts from children no matter how small. He will accept gifts from others based on the sentimentality of it more often than not.
What item(s) would your character be pleased to receive as a reward?
He appreciates things like art, photographs, or letters when sentimentality is attached. He has little need for food, but he does like wine and a type of Frontier booze. He's also a science man and practical, so he loves equipment, or little gadgets/items which can aid him in a job or task.
What item(s) would your character never ask for, but you, the player, would want to give them?
LOVE AND SELF RESPECT (no). Anything that can be a reminder of his mother, or perhaps Doris and Dan. Items associated with any PC- or NPC-related bonds of CR. Basically, he'd never ask for soft things because he tries not to form attachments, but he should have all the soft things as a keepsake.
OOC, what are your goals with this character? What would you enjoy seeing them getting involved in or would enjoy as a potential character arc?
I would love to see him continue to struggle between the vampire-human balance of his existence. It's so good when people are kind to D because he never expects it, but I also like tackling the prejudices he gets for being a dhampir. Part of his canon story is the analysis of what makes a person a monster or not a monster; i.e. a human being the real monster, or an in-human being exceptionally kind. D is very fun when he ends up forming relationships against his will; he's so afraid of his lasting existence, and he's seen many, many, many humans grow old and die, so he's always hesitant to form strong bonds with them. I'd love to see if he will question his Meridian stance at all, or how much he'd entertain working with the people of Zenith when it comes up.

Working on moving him toward T4 in the future. Would love for him to use his roots in being a mercenary to do certain jobs for those in Springstar and build up rapport and prestige. Kinda like reliability and success for dirtier work (hunting, etc, not necessarily murder). Unless...?
I think he'd be well suited for curious pursuits too, like digging into cryptid things like the Below and maybe Kowloon a bit. Any place where someone could uncover secrets about Kenos history, or the timestream, or their worlds.
