THE GOOD
How far would they go to accomplish their goals or fulfill those desires? Do they have lines they wouldn't cross?
If the goal is important enough to her, there really isn't any line Hayame wouldn't cross to accomplish it. In her canon, this has included very extreme measures such as actively participating in the enslavement of her own race, being willing to capture women and children, taking orders without question from human masters, killing people who get in her way... and even being willing to kill herself. Not many goals will reach this level of dedication, but she is capable of it. The only thing that seemed to potentially deter/disgust her was non-consensual sexual acts, such as the forced breeding and "use" of jinba by humans that she grew up with in the stables. Now that she is trying to be a better person Hayame might hesitate over some things, like hurting children, but if the goal was something important enough, like going home or saving one of the few people she actually cared about...
What is something they treasure?
Hayame is not in possession of any physical items that she treasures. The only thing that would really qualify are her arrows fletched with sea eagle that were made by her brother. A lack of things to treasure is part of her problem, to be honest, because even just mentally or emotionally... she has very few warm or kind memories to draw on, and very few bonds.
What do they consider to be their best or most positive qualities?
Her physical strength and battle prowess. (Whether that's the healthiest way to think about yourself is another matter, thanks slavery upbringing.)
What is this character's best memory?
There is... one single day that Hayame spent in the village of free jinba where she was kept (loosely, by that point in time) as a POW, just before everything came crashing down on her. A day after she'd witnessed Matsukaze help someone through compassion and not force and decided to try and be kinder. She took the young students of her archery class out to practice target shooting, she shared a meal with the villagers, she helped a pregnant Koume start a new garden patch, she accompanied Matsukaze out to search for herbs and was teased mercilessly for a split second of affectionate expression by Kohibari upon their return... And for just one day, she almost understood what it might have been like, to live free and be happy. ... But even that memory is sour now, knowing that the next day her master sent word that he had arrived and had the village surrounded.
Is there anyone they have highly positive feelings towards?
➳ Yubari: her (half) brother, a fellow Armed jinba of the Miyatsuta Breeding Stable. Though she treated him coldly and callously when he attempted to act in a brotherly manner towards her in public, Yubari is the only person in her master's breeding stable that she felt she could rely on or trust, and she did value him even if she felt that she could not show weakness before others and acknowledge their bond. She now feels extreme guilt for not being a better elder sister to him.
➳ Matsukaze: her could-be lover/being-a-better-person mentor, the man she was sent to hunt who then tried to teach her she didn't have to live that way. Though a part of her still doubted, unable to believe so soon or so easily in a better, kinder world that Matsukaze offered her as a member of the free village... Hayame wanted to believe. She wanted to reach out. And if she was to know a man, she wished it had been him. She now feels extreme guilt for surviving (whether through chance or being "chosen") the potential death of their world, when she knows for a fact that he would be the far better person to fight for it... that he deserved to live more than she did.
➳ CR-wise: among the shard-bearers, she feels most positively towards Liem Talbott (whose words after seeing her past in the Horos arrival sequence guided her towards the light and who she has sort of non-conned into becoming a mortal arbiter), Set (who gave her his divine blessing when she demanded the god of war's favor in her grudge against a demon, and who declared her his friend), Akua (who shares certain understandings about the difficulty of redemption, and who also offered her friendship), Claude (who has been accepting of her as a fellow "outsider", who confessed to love her), and Gray (who she has half taken under her wing). She'd also feel positively towards Kaeya (who saw into her past with her brother) and Amos (who she shares a certain background with), but she can't because they're tHE ENEMY.
THE BAD
What could or would tempt your character to compromise their principles?
Hayame is very stubborn, and she was raised with a very rigid sense of ethics and mortals that likely seem very medieval and antiquated to many others. Her sense of honor is extremely strict and extreme. When people push her, she tends to grow even more obstinate out of spite. But this stiffness means that when she does bend... she tends to break. Despite how fiercely she defends her beliefs, it's more out of fear and conditioning than anything else, and if she were offered something concrete and believable (to her) about being able to save her world, or specific people that she cared about... She might snap.
What do they desire above all else?
Her world. Hayame doesn't care about her own personal survival. She was a day away from committing lovers suicide to save a village when she came into Horos, and despite how afraid she actually is to die, she did attempt to commit suicide in-game as well, despairing over being the only member of her kind in a world that didn't make any sense and thinking that her world might be gone. She doesn't care about riches or power, unless they can help her accomplish her goals. What she wants is to return to a place where things made sense and there's no strange magics, to a "home" where people look like her and understand her and... maybe even care about her. Even if her world is full of awful things, even if she'll still have to die the very next day... She wants to go back.
What are their biggest fear and/or insecurities?
Hayame's biggest fears are being sold as a broodmare/"companion" and losing her arms, both of which are highly specific to the culture she grew up in. From a young age she became aware that her dam was forced to breed each season with whatever stallion the stable master selected, and was taught to find the broken woman disgusting and weak by her human handlers. The idea of having her life reduced to crude female use is terrifying and disgusting to her, and she spent every bit of energy she had making herself less of a "woman" and more of a "warrior" to try and prevent it. Likewise, humans would flense the arms from centaurs and make them "Armless" to control them, and Hayame was raised to view that as the ultimate punishment and torture for her kind-- being made into a creature that cannot even feed itself, bathe, or survive without the "kindness" of a master. It boils down to a fear of being weak/powerless and a fear of being considered worthless, but they take very specific cultural forms.
What is this character's worst memory?
From canon, it would be the day she received word from her master that he had surrounded the village of free jinba, when Hayame realized that she was the cause of everything bad that was about to happen and the threat that had arrived on their doorstep, all because she hadn't been able to fully trust or believe in the chance of a better world and future for herself. (Ref/Inspo: 01, 02) From AT, it could be just be a jumble of the many violent fights that she had (most notably when she lost her left eye to a demon) and the feelings of alienation/being misunderstood that dogged her days there.
Is there anyone they feel highly negative feelings towards?
➳ Herself: Hayame's default feelings about people are kind of negative, and she came to hate many people in her time in AT, but to be honest, the person she feels more negatively about is herself. She hates that she is the one who somehow survived her world's troubles, she feels immense guilt for her role in canon as an overseer of her own kind, a poor sister, and the harbinger of that village's doom, she curses any weakness that she has... and then curses herself more any time she lets it show.
➳ CR-wise: among the shard-bearers, she feels most negatively towards Sebastian (the demon who took her left eye and refused to die even after she ripped out his throat, who is ~loved despite his nature while she considers herself to be scorned for her own), Gen (who teenage-punkly made jokes about her wanting to fuck him, abandoned her mid-lunch date, and gave a very crappy apology for it), Voryn (who triggers her slavery backstory resentment and set her up to look like a thin-skinned bully in front of the whole faction), Silco (who she considers to be a scheming, slippery rat), and John Gaius (who she considers a traitor to Meridian and to be tempting ruin with his sick experiments).

OOC, what are your goals with this character? What would you enjoy seeing them getting involved in or would enjoy as a potential character arc?
I just want to make her better!!! It's... look, it's a challenge, but I still hold on to the small hope that she'll be able to not fall into despair/self-hate/suicidal tendencies despite how out of her depth and alone she feels away from her world. If she could find a way to forgive herself, to bond with others, find a new reason to live... That would be swell. 🙃 I think the best way to go about this is trying to get her into more situations where she has to work with others, and hopefully she'll one day... make a friend? More importantly, I think she really needs to to find people she can respect, and also people she feels genuinely understand her thinking/culture/where she's coming from, in order for her to start opening up, so... OOCly I'd like to see her paired up with other characters in some way, or nudged towards situations that would help or force her to open up about herself.
UPDATE: getting her to like her fellow Meridian as a whole group doesn't seem to be actually working, unfortunately, so I guess I'd also be open to a route where she becomes
the new Meridian!Manonsome sort of Meridian traitor cleanser/rules enforcer/something like that.UPDATE: she finally has (3) whole {problematic, frustrating} friends and (1) whole Person Who Claims to Love Her, so she is doing slightly better mentally/socially, but I'd still like to try and work to find her a place she considers her own/a duty that gives her purpose beyond "must fight Zenites for Oracles"
