CANON UPDATES
Should you wish to update your character to another canon point, please fill out the form below!
Characters undergoing a canon update will find themselves compelled to travel to the Tree of Life, falling into a trance-like daze that cannot be interrupted by outside influence. Once they reach the island, they will be overwhelmed with the unnatural urge to curl up among the branches of the massive Tree; their bodies will slowly become cradled within the roots and sink into the earth. How long they are gone is up to you, but typically, this should be no longer than a few days ICly.
They will reawaken beneath the soil of the Tree, their bodies slowly pushed back up in a cocoon of roots; for the next 24 hours, they will feel slightly groggy and weak - as if they had come to from an exceptionally long sleep, their new memories now intact.

Length of time character will be missing ICly: Uhhhh 2 days? He'll be back by the TDM, feelin' woozy
Any notes? 🤔 He'll have gained about a year + some months' worth of memories, with most of it having been focused on preparing for a longer term mission to the moon. The main point of interest is that now he knows the name and face of the dude who blew up his village! Who apparently spent years blowing up other villages and killing innocent people in the name of ✨ human advancement ✨! Good stuff.
Also very important: with his combined time in AT/Kenos + canon update time, he is now officially Babygirl™ age 👍

Canon: Lord El-Melloi II Case Files
New canon point: end of series (book 10)
Length of time character will be missing ICly: one day, it's a quickie
Any notes? She'll only be gaining a bit of time, maybe a month, but she'll be coming back with a hot topic blonde highlight in her hair, a magic/dragon core (which translates to being able to use mana burst), and halted body aging due to her intensifying Saberification. Canon states this makes Gray "infinitely close to a Servant," which I'll be saying grants her the potential output of a Servant when fighting but without the durability, i.e. she'll be a glass cannon.

Canon: BASTARD!! -暗黒の破壊神-
New canon point: Chapter 99, Crime and Punishment Arc
Length of time character will be missing ICly: 10~14 days after being killed by Amos and taken to Aeto. (I'll have this overlap with my hiatus!)
Any notes? He and Lucien will age 2 years, though there is hardly any physical indication of this in the manga. His shard will have mostly fused together with Lucien's. I will update my pages accordingly!

Canon: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, before the final boss
New canon point: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (BOTW's sequel), again before the final boss
Length of time character will be missing ICly: Let us know for reference! He's getting flavor-blasted sometime in September before the TDM, and coming back in the first week of October, so about 2-3 weeks! This canon update is also occurring following a dissipation, so this allows for some time for his Shard to eventually be returned to the Tree to be regenerated.
Any notes? As part of his canon update, he'll be obtaining a slew of new canon powers! (subject to the game's overall caps, of course.) This will subsequently bump him up from being a Tier 1 character for token purchases to a Tier 3 character. Info about these powers will eventually be added to Link's info page on his journal, but there's a summary of how they work in-game here.
Aside from the powers part of it... Link will be coming from 5 years in the future from his prior canon point. In that time, he defeated Calamity Ganon, saved Princess Zelda, and started the process of finally rebuilding society - basically, all the things he really really really wants to do at the moment in Kenos with his current canon point. He'll get to experience several good years of having an earnestly happy and "normal" life, and with all the pressure and guilt of rectifying his past mistakes finally gone. The problem is that this is the Legend of Zelda, and the bad guy is never really defeated, and poor Link and Zelda have to fight Ganondorf all over again only five years after doing it the first time. Add to that a bunch of very upsetting and spoilery things that happen, and Link will be feeling very frustrated with the whole situation. In a weird way, he'll be just as eager to get home, while simultaneously being a bit less militant about it.

New canon point: Season 2, Chapter 72 ( He's just starting to attack the caravan outside of the Temple of Isis, having accepted that it is his role to be a forgotten god. )
Length of time character will be missing ICly: Let us know for reference! The duration of time that he's dead, to be fair.
Any notes? Set will return with a better understanding of the curse upon him, as a way to communicate with the agonized souls as well as imbue his sands with their will — allowing him to be an avatar of their pain ( sharing in it and manifesting it ). No power changes, just his main comprehension. He'll have gained like, a few months of memory, and a bit of his personality will have shifted — as Horus has confessed to him. I'll tease the details out slowly, but they shouldn't impact his Kenos-based goals/narrative arc beyond making him more intent on living up to TWO people's love for him. YEEHAW.

Any notes? ruby has only gained a month or two of memories, but the final event she experienced before returning to kenos - cesare kissing her - has completely broken her and caused her to undergo a massive personality shift. i'll make a note for fellow players elsewhere, but her content warnings will be more relevant than ever from here on out.
