THE GOOD

How far would they go to accomplish their goals or fulfill their desires? Do they have lines they wouldn't cross?
Despite saying multiple times that she's a "cold hearted magus" and that she "will kill someone if they get in her way" she never actually proves any of those. It's very likely that despite her big claims that she'd not be able to kill in cold blood.

What is something they treasure?
Her sister The jewel pendant her father gifted to her before he was killed.

What do they consider to be their best or most positive qualities?
Perseverance and Determination. Through gritted teeth she can overcome anything. Though what sets her apart from her father is her adaptability. Because trivial mistakes so often come up and bite her in the ass, Rin has learned to shift gears quickly / alter her plans on the fly / get creative with solutions. It's a skill her father never really had to develop.

What is this character's best memory?
Handing down her favorite magical hair ribbon to her sister.

Is there anyone they have highly positive feelings towards?
Aside from the canon list on the wiki:
✧ Gray: Immediately Rin became soft on Gray because of her face, but the girl's polite nature and willingness to help solidified herself as someone Rin wants to look out for

✧ Lucien: While she doesn't exactly harbor any special feelings about him, Rin couldn't help but take him under her wing after learning how pathetically helpless her neighbor was. As he is "part of her world" now, Rin tends to comfort him when he's crying or prepare meals for them both. In exchange he'll do other menial chores and keep her room clean because she's a fucking disaster in that regard

✧ Atsumu: Like any respectable mage is expected to, Rin has taken on an apprentice. Atsumu is basically her little Shirou stand in, and by god does he hit a lot of the Shirou-isms for her. Incredibly stubborn to the point where she has to tell him to rest, surprisingly diligent when it comes to his study, and capable of things normal mages would just give up on (because of aforementioned stubbornness). She appreciates his work ethic, and secretly (or not so secretly) enjoys the banter they hurl at one another. Rin wouldn't use the "f" word, but others would probably consider them friends. He is a part of "her world" now, and thus takes on a notion of obligation and responsibility in regards to his welfare.

Her feelings for Dark, Dimitri, Quetz, Byleth/Sothis, Gen and Mordred are a little more complicated than "positive" or "negative," but they are currently some of the important figures she has met during her time in Kenos.

THE BAD

What could or would tempt your character to compromise their principles?
She'd consider it if doing so meant sparing those listed above.

What do they desire above all else?
Currently? It's to create a world where she and her sister can live in without the interference of mages. To give her sister a body without the worms or connection to the tainted Holy Grail.

What are their biggest fear and/or insecurities?
Most, if not all, of Rin's fears and insecurities lie within living up to expectation. In her formative years so much happened to instill a sense of necessity to live up to aforementioned expectations. Her father insisted that she was special, that she was gifted, and that with the right training she'd be able to do anything. Meanwhile her sister was sent away to live with another family just for the unfortunate circumstance of being born after her?

With her core personality and values contradicting the ideals of a mage that her father imparted on her means she's consistently falling into a worried line of thinking that maybe she isn't good enough. That maybe it was a mistake to keep the first born, and that perhaps Sakura should have inherited the Tohsaka name. That anxiety ties in with the guilt she felt for being the one to "receive everything". But she hoped that the more she suffered in silence that the more Sakura's life was actually okay. In fact it twists her so up inside that Rin tries to convince herself that the Matou family treats Sakura well for being the saving grace of the dying bloodline of their family.

(This is why the usually suspicious Rin joins a faction quick - because she fears being useless and a failure as a mage. So she does what she can to get her abilities back ASAP)

What is this character's worst memory?
Her father's funeral. Linked is the chapter encompassing the funeral and after it where Kirei gives her the Azoth Blade which he used to kill her father. It was heart breaking for her, and the first time she ever succumbed to crying in front of him.

(Follow up contender is the day she investigated the Matou house and found the worm pit...)

Is there anyone they have highly negative feelings towards?
Kirei Kotomine - the man who she entrusted her father's life to in the holy grail war. While she's of the mind that deep down she unfairly blames him for her father's demise because he was supposed to protect Tokiomi... it's actually right on the money. She doesn't know it, but the man literally stabbed her father and gifted the very knife that killed the man to her.

Zouken Matou - for taking her sister in the first place. For submitting her to that basement pit of worms. For his vile world view and for raising Shinji how he did. For merely existing because his presence, because after investigating the Matou household and throwing up in disgust and anger she knew. She knew it was him who seeded so much evil directly into their lives. For so, so many things.

Aetos - sure, Rin hates him for the violation of her magic circuits, but what she truly despises is his potential of what he might do. As someone similar to the mages of her world he invokes not only a point of sore self hatred, but also the protective instinct of wanting to prevent him from touching people she may hold dear.

THE ET CETERA

What kinds of gifts does your character like?
Secretly she likes gifts of sincerity that are born of specifically thinking of what she enjoys or what she could use practically. On the surface she likes shallow things — anything expensive or "worth" something because it could always be put to use, sold, or bartered off.

What item(s) would your character be pleased to receive as a reward?
✧ Gemstones
✧ High end skincare or haircare products
✧ Anything that may increase her independence or combat capabilities
✧ Anything rare or worth bragging about in Kenos bc she's Like That
✧ "Trendy" or fancy clothing / preferably "girly" to offset her "uncute personality"

What item(s) would your character never ask for, but you, the player, would want to give them?
✧ The Azoth Blade that was used to kill her father
✧ Cat themed items or cat-patterned clothing (ex. cat pajamas or cat apron)
✧ Any of these looks
✧ Tickets to any Kenos establishment whether it be nice (spa) or funny (free meal at benny's, coupon to a couple's retreat...)

OOC, what are your goals with this character? What would you enjoy seeing them getting involved in or would enjoy as a potential character arc?

✧ Things I could probably use help with:
1. Rin is very much the type to power her way through things with skill, innate talent, or raw power. Sure she is an over-planner, but that's because she's so "talented" that she's never really had to think super creatively. As such I think it would be really neat if a character smarter than her would be able to direct her to utilize her abilities to their fullest (example).

2. While I don't want to be that person who demands a character arc from an NPC, I would find it fun if by some chance Rin is able to ruin a thing or two for Aetos even if indirectly.

✧ Things I may have to manifest on my own
1. Short Term: after having her shop for a few months have her go into debt and force her to work a bunch of odd jobs/part time jobs to buy it back.

2. Long Term: My current goal for Rin would be for her to be able to hit the same story beats as the end of her canon so I can update her. What I truly wish is for her to go up against someone she cares about, who she should be killing them to spare others, but in the end is unable to do so. The ideal would be to have her sacrifice herself in a way that either pulls them from the brink, lessens the severity of destruction, or is meaningful in some way.
