THE GOOD

How far would they go to accomplish their goals or fulfill those desires? Do they have lines they wouldn't cross?
Atsumu is constantly pushing himself and his own physical limits to achieve his dreams. He's an extremely driven young man who meets new challenges with zeal.

The fortunate thing for him is that all of his goals and desires thus far have been achievable through extremely legal means where no one gets seriously hurt. Since he's an athlete with a strong need to compete, the worst that happens is he upsets a rival team by beating them, or a teammate by being unnecessarily harsh.

With a much loftier goal that requires him finally actually having to cross lines, there's a lot more that Atsumu would balk at. Getting into a physical fight with someone is probably a reasonable ask, but wanting him to kill someone or put his own life on the line is... more challenging. It's not to say that he wouldn't eventually be able to cross lines like this given the right motivation and pressure, but he certainly wouldn't be willing to on his own if he had any inkling there were other options, or if he didn't properly understand the gravity of a given situation.

He's never had to come into direct conflict with what his uncrossable lines would be, however, and where he'd want to draw his lines are likely a lot more moral than where his final lines would actually end up lying.

What is something they treasure?
Let me just take a deep, pained breath before I answer this...

Him....self....

STOP! DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT! LET ME EXPLAIN!!

Atsumu has put a lot of time and care into training his body, not just through intensive exercise routines, but careful daily practice to get better and better at the skills that matter to him. He's worked his body and his skill hard enough and consistently enough to make himself one of the high school athletes to beat, and he takes a lot of pride in that fact. Yeah, alright, he also has an ego the size of the fucking moon, but the treasuring himself is less about that, and more about the care he's put into himself in order to make himself truly great at the sport he loves.

What do they consider to be their best or most positive qualities?
His willingness to approach things at different angles that others might not think of. The short version of this would be to say his creativity, but that's not really how he would see it. He's not particularly artsy or crafty, but when it comes to a problem that he's actually interested in, Atsumu will turn it over in his head and look at it from weird angles to figure out a better approach to tackling it. He'll watch what other people do things, and yoink their ideas to play around with and improve them and make them work best for him.

It's not something he thinks about super consciously, but Atsumu loves trying new things, and takes a lot of pride in the way he figures out puzzles he's presented with.

What is this character's best memory?
The moment he realized what volleyball position he wanted to play as a child. He and his brother attended a volleyball camp in elementary school where they were just two kiddos messing around at sports and having fun, but he overheard one of the trainers say something that really stuck with him. "It's okay, you don't gotta be scared. I'll letcha hit it nice and easy."

That "I'll letcha hit it" echoed in his mind until something clicked into place for him, and started him on a trajectory that took him to where he is today. It's not a particular exciting memory, or even a sweet one, but it had a bigger impact on him than almost anything else in his life.

Is there anyone they have highly positive feelings towards?
I'll list three.

1. Kita Shinsuke: The captain of his high school team his second year. Kita is a serious young man with an absolutely astonishing work ethic. He's also got a way of telling it like it is to people in a way that cuts to the quick. He intimidates the shit out of Atsumu, but the respect and admiration he has for him surpasses that in leaps and bounds.
2. Hinata Shoyo: The truth is that Atsumu does not know Hinata that well. The two of them have only played one game against each other, but Hinata made a huge impact on Atsumu during that game. He's got the kind of hunger and determination that makes a guy like Atsumu take note, because it's something he can deeply relate to and appreciate. People that can match him and impress him through one short meeting are people that Atsumu warms up to quickly.
3. Miya Osamu: His twin, and in a lot of ways his biggest rival. Since they were kids Atsumu and Osamu have both been nearly inseparable while simultaneously being at each other's throats. Both twins have hyper competitive personalities, though Osamu at least seems to be able to reel his back, and that's driven both of them forward in life. Atsumu in particular became well known for trying to one up his brother. And the two fight like crazy, constantly getting under each other's skin and finding new wants to agitate each other regularly.

At the end of the day though, they're still brothers, and they've been there to prop each other up and keep going despite the headaches they cause for each other.

THE BAD

What could or would tempt your character to compromise their principles?
Not much in canon, but in Kenos...

With so much having collapsed around him, and all of his support systems gone, it wouldn't take much. He wants what he had back, and he'd be willing to compromise a lot of his own beliefs for it. Some he would struggle with more than others, but most of his core beliefs aren't really the same thing as his morals, and a lot of what his fundamental way of thinking can be twisted around a new moral code if push comes to shove for him.

What do they desire above all else?
His old life back.

What are their biggest fear and/or insecurities?
That he's not good enough. While he's gotten heaps of praise for his talents during his teen years, he only got there through a whole mountain of hard work and effort. There probably is some innate abilities that he was able to tap into during all of this, and fortunately he, a very tall boy, picked a path where height is a huge advantage, but most of his achievements were made through effort.

Atsumu is competitive as hell, and it bothers him when he's worse than someone else. Despite all he does and all his effort, he worries about not being good enough, or there being someone better than him. His big ego and need to be top dog belies an insecurity that he isn't.

What is this character's worst memory?
His brother finally coming clean about the fact that he wouldn't be continuing to play volleyball after high school, and Atsumu being forced to face the fact that he was about to have to walk the road ahead completely alone.

Is there anyone they have highly negative feelings towards?
Certain world destroying people in certain other worlds. We don't gotta mention names though.

THE MATERIAL

What kinds of gifts does your character like?
All kinds. Food mostly, but useless but neat trinkets are nice too, anything related to his actual hobby, and games.

What item(s) would your character be pleased to receive as a reward?
I'm updating this, but... still volleyball related things... after the tragic burning goat event.

Also lightweight weaponry that can be thrown, and lightweight armor that he can use to move in. Any equipment that could be helpful to him long term.

What item(s) would your character never ask for, but you, the player, would want to give them?
Items that are for sure powerful and useful for whatever missions or assignments he's handed, but ones that are questionable in some way or another. Items that come with a catch to use in some regard.

For example, things that ask him to either give up a part of himself, or things that will do some small degree of harm to the person he uses them on, forcing Atsumu to make a choice about whether he wants to or not.

OOC, what are your goals with this character? What would you enjoy seeing them getting involved in or would enjoy as a potential character arc?

Atsumu is (currently) probably the biggest normie in the game, and I'm hoping to absolutely wreck that. There was some reluctance on his part, but he already started to learn how to use weapons, and magic (with more enthusiasm), and I'm interested in having him continue down this particular path on his own to make himself more useful to his team.

And I do hope that by actively working to make himself useful, he actually gets used. I want a slow spiral corruption arc for a character who starts off normal, and honestly not that committed to the ideals of the group he's part of, and ends up falling deeper and deeper into the Zenith mindset/clutches in whatever way necessary to make that happen.
