ACTIVITY CHECKS

ACTIVITY

AC BASICS

Activity Checks happen monthly and require 10 comments from you across two threads with all comments being during the AC period. You cannot reuse a thread for AC that you have previously submitted. Activity proofs can be submitted at any time during the month via a Google Form (more on this below). Submissions for AC are accepted until the last day of the month at 9PM / 21:00 CST.

For example, the following will pass AC:
  • A toplevel on an event with 25 comments + an inbox thread with 1 comment
  • A reply to an event toplevel with 5 comments + a reply to a different toplevel on the same event with 5 comments
  • A communion post with 10 comments + a reply to a log with 3 comments
  • Two threads on an open log with 10+ comments each
And the following would not:
  • A backdated thread that was submitted for AC last month with 7 comments + an event toplevel with 45 comments
  • A reply to an event toplevel with 3 comments + an inbox thread with 4 comments
  • A thread with 4 comments, but no threads anywhere else
If you’re not sure if you’ll be able to hit these requirements in a given month, hiatuses can be taken, but this hiatus must span at least two weeks within the AC month for AC exemption.

As one special case, Notebook/texting threads only count for half AC. That is, if you submit a Notebook thread that contains 10 comments for you, it will only count for AC purposes as 5 comments. Similarly, if we notice a patten of only submitting Notebook threads for AC, we’ll be approaching players to ask for additional activity (with no comment count, this is just to show that they’re engaging otherwise). The Notebooks are meant to be a new way to foster CR and add some lower pressure threading opportunities, but it should not be a replacement. We still need actual action being committed IC to keep the game moving forward!

Due to the capped nature of the game, AC requirements are not up for negotiation, and we do not employ a strike system, retroactive hiatuses, etc. Similarly, we will be looking out for insular tagging, since this is against the spirit of the premise as well as the capped nature of the game. If you run into a problem with AC for the month, please contact a mod as soon as possible. We’re willing to work with people for extenuating circumstances, but this is the only time exceptions will be granted. Please note, if you fail to submit an Activity Check and therefore idle out, you will not be allowed to reapply to the game.

To obtain Bonus AC, you'll just double your base requirements! That is, you'll submit two different threads than your base AC that similarly have ten comments between them.

AC SUBMISSION

Activity Checks are conducted in two parts:

  1. Submit your proofs via the Google Form
  2. Submit your notable activity (and any tokens you wish to spend) on this post.
While the second part technically isn’t required, failure to at least comment with even a placeholder will forfeit you any token bonuses you may have earned during the month. You can find more about tokens on that post.

The form will ask you for your hiatus status, your base AC, and your bonus AC (if applicable). Once you hit submit, the form will be sent in for processing. If you made a mistake, don’t worry. Google Forms allow you to edit your submission after the fact and will give you a link to be able to do so. If you realize you made a mistake a week later and don’t have that link, it’s still okay! You can submit the form again. As a note, please be aware that you must submit one form per character. If you’re playing a second character, you’ll have to submit twice!

After you’ve submitted your AC, you can confirm that it was successfully submitted on this Google Sheet. The AC mod will be checking the sheet weekly and running a script to process it, after which the status of your AC will be marked on the spreadsheet (in column M) with PASS or FAIL.

It is your responsibility as a player to check your AC submission at some point in the month and make sure that you’ve passed. If your AC submission has failed (such as due to miscounted comments), you can hover over the cell with "FAIL" in it to see why. The AC Mod will not be notifying people that fail.
