GAME OPENING

This generation of Shard-Bearers begins to arrive in Kenos. Some of these Shard-Bearers are pulled from a distant, similar world called Horos and given a personal welcome and introduction to Kenos by Zenith’s leader, Yima. Some of these people arrive earlier than others, but most awake together in Yima’s care to purge the alien forces of Kenoma or Pleroma from their Shards.

These Shard-Bearers are then tasked with welcoming those who are pulled directly from their home worlds. These new Shard-Bearers are grown in the Tree of Life, but they’re also effectively used as bait by a corrupted dryad that took up residence in the tree. All Shard-Bearers were forced to play a game of sacrifices, and they lost everything from limbs to their lives, though these experiences were more illusory than real. Though the Tree tried to keep them there, the Shard-Bearers were rescued by the leader of the Meridian, Cyrus, who also spoke to many of them about Meridian, its goals, and the iliachtida, the sunbeam that allows them to take a glimpse of home.

Otherwise, the Shard-Bearers were given free reign to explore the cities of Highstorm and Springstar and see what the two cities and factions had to offer. Some Shard-Bearers made their choice and Harmonized to one of the factions, but many still hesitated and took longer to make their choice.
