EVENTS & PLAYER PLOTS

EVENTS & PLAYER PLOTS
Kenos events run on a cycle, with Oracle months driving the main backbone of the progress of the faction tensions, followed by a TDM / Setting adjustment month, and a month we call a "Non-plot month." This Non-Plot Month is where we need input from you! We would like to see these months filled with player initiative in whatever form that comes in - be it an optional, Island-specific event involving new mechanics or a Player Plot that has been brewing in the background, now ready to go. Maybe you just want to round up some folks and go do some exploring; this month is for tackling whatever floats your boat and about giving you, the player, the freedom to do so!

NON-PLOT EVENTS

Non-Plot Events are those where your imagination is the limit! If you have an idea for an event that would simply be fun for the player base to participate in, it may be suitable for a Non-Plot Event. This could be something like introducing a more fleshed-out, interactive world to explore in Starlight Park for the month, or introducing a new Island on which Aspects are explored in a new and interesting way. Maybe you want to run a tiny mansion-Island in the throes of a Clue-style murder mystery. What about an island of an abandoned modern-day government facility experiencing a containment breach of classified, sometimes-dangerous, sometimes-wacky creatures? (Yes, this is SCP.) Maybe there is a city-wide festival of love; maybe we finally get Kenoscon. Who knows? The sky's the limit! You get the point, I hope.

As thanks, a player that chooses to run a Non-Plot Event will be rewarded 2 Tokens after their event concludes to be used in Activity Rewards. Tokens earned this way are also the only case where you are allowed to go past the 5 maximum Tokens.

These are the general summaries to give you an idea of what kind of plot you might prefer, but these types of events will be wholly up to you to write and run! We will not leave you hanging, however, and if you need additional assistance or questions along the way, we will coordinate with you.

For Non-Plot events, the Loremasters of course will help you in brainstorming and creating any relevant pages for the community, but running the event is completely up to you. This means writing up any relevant game info, writing the event post and its matching OOC post, and being available during the event period to answer player questions. For all intents and purposes, during your Event, you are the mod of the game where it is concerned, and the Loremasters are in the background to support you. But don't think of it as a scary responsibility! This is a chance to have fun and create a unique experience for your fellow players.

PLAYER PLOTS

Player Plots, by comparison, are a kind of “mini-event” that tends to arise because of IC actions. For example, a character may be interested in nighttime mysteries within Alenroux and gathers a team of Shard-Bearers to stay the night or perhaps because of a grudge, a character kidnaps another. These are character-driven actions that involve multiple other characters but don’t rise to the full inclusion necessary to be qualified as a full Event as described above.

Because there’s a wide variation in what this can entail, this page also exists as a general contact page to get in touch with the mods/Loremasters about running a Player Plot. If this is something you’re interested in doing, just let us know! We can help answer any questions you may have and may be able to tie them into upcoming event(s) that you might not be privy to.

You are also free to drop INSPIRATION for Oracle plots here as well! We greatly appreciate it.
