Back when she canon updated in June, her sudden injection of memories from back home solidified her support for the Meridian cause. Gray's motivation will always be the small circle of people important to her, and after the events of the Before Times, she needed the reminder of how much she owed her loved ones back home -- not just Waver, but her mother as well, whom Gray never got to have a candid conversation with.
By that point, she'd already agreed to help with the Meridian campaign into Alenroux, and remained active as a scout and guard for months afterward, becoming more invested in the success and survival of Springstar's people. She would assist Hayame's group in trying to drive the monsters from Alenroux, and spend extensive time there up until it would be declared a neutral zone again.
By the time the Exalt Oracle rolled around, Gray no longer felt hesitation about competing with Zenith, willing to tussle with Amos over (what she thought was) one of the Effigy's treasured items. For the Harbinger Oracle she did her dang best, pushing through some [redacted] to contribute, as well as lopping off the length of her hair. She is here to help Meridian succeed, even if she understands the Zenith perspective.
